I am a nationally certified Athletic Trainer and Strength and Conditioning Specialist (which is a step above a personal trainer) and have been working with people to help them improve their health and fitness since 2000. In my athletic training career, I have been fortunate enough to work with athletes that vary widely in ability. I’ve worked with high school athletes, college athletes, professional athletes, and even a few Olympic caliber athletes. I’ve also worked with a lot of professional entertainers, such as dancers, gymnasts, and puppeteers.
These experiences have shown me just how much the human body is capable of doing, and in this phase of my career I want to share the knowledge of the adaptability of our bodies with people who are trying to improve their health a little bit every day. Because that is the “trick” to being healthy–doing a little bit everyday to get better.
When I’m not working, I enjoy spending time with my wife and my two dogs. I also enjoy running, reading, and doing odds and ends around the house. I plan to one day complete the 50 state + DC marathon challenge, though the going is slow as I continue to work on building my business. So far I’ve only completed races in Florida, South Carolina, and Missouri, so I still have a ways to go. You can follow my adventures in running, and random personal stories, on my other blog over at www.dizruns.com.
